I'm using IE and this site is hugely CPU intensive. Just going from one page to another, my CPU shoots up to 100% for a few seconds and jumps to like 70-80MB too - after the page is loaded, it drops down to a normal 40-50MB (normal for me)...but what's up w/the site being a cpu hog for end users?

Steve have you considered dropping that piece of rotten shit IE yet? Try Firefox.

- Its far more secure than IE.
- No giant security holes thanks to ActiveX.
- Tabbed browsing.
- Built-in popup blocking.
- Web Search from your tool bar without obnoxious addons.
- Flexible plugin system that allows you add awesome features that IE users never dream of.

It's IE's fault. My CPU generally stays at <10%

yea yea..I know all the problems w/firefox and IE and everyone has to put their 2 cents in good and bad on both browsers - and I do use both. It's no problem for me to just use firefox for this site..but it's still worth mentioning the CPU hog it creates when using IE. Sure, you can sit around all day telling people..oh man, trash that POS IE browswer and use the kick ass best firefox in the world!! ...but it doesn't solve the technical problem in the background of this website.

So you're suggesting that Dizzy should somehow break his W3C compliant code to make it work with a uncompliant browser? Or are you saying Dizzy should fix IE's shoddy html rendering engine for M$?

Like Kanzen says, the technical problem is with IE, not with this website.
