Thanks for doing this. But who linked them in the first place? A blind man could see that they weren't the same girl. Perhaps a system where the original poster has the first option to link the girl into a series. Or, when uploading the uploader could designate which series it was to go in.

All it takes is for one photo to be incorrectly linked to another and it can result in hundreds of images being grouped together.

You also have those sets where a brunette & a blonde are in a photo together, but then because of that one image, individual images of the two women are linked together - this can then make it look like a random blonde & brunette have been linked for no reason.

There are probably sets of photos going back 10+ years that are incorrectly linked, just an ongoing piece of admin but it’s nothing worth losing sleep over, relatively easily sorted.

Well I mean in the grand scheme of things, having a few incorrect series linked together isn't the worst problem in the world. And it is quite easy to unlink, it's just time consuming (as I'm sure you've discovered with the ones you've tidied up so far).

Well, if I'm the only one that thinks that defeating the whole concept of what a 'series' was supposed to be is no big deal, so be it. And it's way more than just a "few incorrect series linked together"
Series 3636689 of over 300 pics of at least 2 different girls is an example. I started to 'fix' it this morning (removed 12 pics)
but I wasn't going to spend at least an hour fixing it if it's no big deal. If there no interest, and/or no effort to reduce it's occurrence as I suggested in the Office forum, I'll spend less time on this problem.

It is really getting out of hand. A number of the biggest sets are being combined. I can't help but think people are just hitting the links for the points and don't really GAF about the sets.

I think you misunderstood my message. I’m not saying the concept of images being linked together is pointless, it’s not. And I would much prefer all series to be accurate but this will never be the case. I come across series’ of images that are incorrectly linked together for years. It’ll be a long process to get everything sorted so it’ll certainly take time, and members will always be finding new ones that need cleaning up.
All I meant in my original message was you shouldn’t let it bother you so much. If you think we’re going to get to a point where there are no incorrect series linked together, then I think you’ll have a long wait. Of course it’s good to clear them up as we go, but it looks to me like linking images together has been a little haphazard for a few years and therefore there will be lots to tidy.
At the same time, you’re not paid to be a mod so if sorting these series out is stressing you out and reducing your enjoyment of the site, don’t do it 🤷‍♂️
