Holy Shit...

Two days ago I was on and everything was fine. I just now logged in and went to my favorites though, and about half my favorites are gone completely.

We're talking dozens of pictures here, and I didn't have all that many favorites in the first place.

I got no notice, no reasons... But half of my favorites are gone if not more.

I realize that the site isn't built for notices, but I also am aware that membership and participation is dropping off. How do you think that impacts someone when they come in and half of their favorites (or more) suddenly vanish and they aren't even told why?

Other sites don't do that.

I keep mentioning that back in the day, WBW was a unique site. It's not so unique any more though, and other sites don't do this. They give a reason, or they use more discretion in removing pics.

I understand it's no one's "fault" per say. I also understand that our membership and participation is on a decline. This may be a factor that's contributed to that.

Not likely. I can't see the server or error logs, but given the pics in question and how I know they're stored (numerically and in order), I doubt that it was a server glitch.

It's certainly possible, but based on what little information I have I'd say other explanations are more probable at this moment.

New information could change that in my mind, but right now that's not what I'd look at first.

And if a mod did take them down, I totally understand that and that's the mod's right. Maybe that's the standard that's been taught and that Diz wants present. If so, I totally get that and I understand that. I also totally get that there's no way to send people notes for every deleted pic.

I'm not assigning blame in any way.

I'm just saying that it is what it is - something that impacts quality and costumer loyalty to the site.

Nothing looks unusual in the crew stats for approvals and deletions.

Maybe give it an hour.

I just checked mine and it looks like they are all still there, but I had so many it would be hard to say if any were missing

I got a note from the mod that removed them. I disagree with the decision, but I understand the decision and I'm still not assigning any blame or fault. It does encourage me to use other communities however when I've spent literal years collecting a particular set of pictures that I'm very selective about and over half, perhaps as many as two-thirds, vanish over night.

This especially considering some of the undeniably repugnant pictures that get approved to be posted on this site. That's not meant to be mean. That's reality.

They had been approved and on this site for (in many cases) over 7 years. Maybe they shouldn't have been on here in the first place, but maybe they should have been kept too. Hard to say and it ain't my call anyway.

It does impact my inclination to be committed to this community however.
