FAQ?

diz-x, boss, lord of what is WBW, how bout a FAQ section to bring us newbies up to speed on things like what kind of pics are more generally accepted than others, the whole "score points" system, basically anything any newbie would want to know...maybe it already exists, maybe the idea has already been shot down...but like i said i'm new, so i have no freakin clue...hey, maybe even a "history" page...when this site started, by who, progress, future plans, consolidated financial statements, SEC filings, tax returns...or maybe not quite that inclusive, but you get the point

In my humbl opinion as a common deadly that would be a good idea.
Its kinda tricky when you are here the first times. It takes a few days before you have the most important things figured out.

Would sure save you Diz-x alot o explainin on Message system... Babe uploads and all other (to us simple facts) matters that Newbies find confusing.

the FAQ idea has been brought up and... NOT shot down expect a FAQ as soon as humanly possible.
in fact.... why not use THIS here thread to get some things going? what to you want to see in that FAQ? which questions do you want answered? what has made your mind boggle each time you visit WBW (if you can ever LEAVE the site that is )?
so come on and bring it up

let's see if you can come up with some intelligent questions

hmmmm... From the beginig i'd make an FAQ that is directed to people who has never seen a forum. Looking at the pics is really not that hard. Mainly explainin how the forum works and what "rules" there are in the Forum (i dont know of any). Like dont start threads under wrong section. It gets then transfered. Dont start similar threads multiple times.

And like recently been alot of questions about the status thing, its new for us all. I've seen like 3-4 threads asking the same thing with the status, and Amature Vid's. So put in the List on Status and type in what you get by each status level... (wich is nada until Demigod). Explain how you increase in status. this many points per upload, and this is how you upload babe/car (small description on how its done) and you also earn status "points" by postin in the forum or giving comments on a pic, wich giver you bla bla points. To see recently posted stuff click Forum, view new posts. (this took me a week to understand ) hmmm... i had a cup of coffe just now... and went blank... yea... I see it as a lil sumtin like that... o0o and of course mention the pay thingie so you get access quicker too the fancy stuff kaching!

yeah, but a "manual" may not be a bad thing. Some things on here seem unclear. Like the whole posting professional photos and all. I'm not ripping on the Moderators by that comment, but by emphasizing that point it would create a lot less work for the moderators because less people would try to post them. There are several other things that are kinda similar. Like posting duplicates, hardcore stuff, copywrited stuff, etc.

I do recall reading something about that on here when I signed up, but I don't remember if it was in a forum or actually shown to me at the sign up.

well come on! you can do better then just that
we'll write both a FAQ and a mannual if need be, but we do need some good pointers on what is unclear and what isn't...

F.A.Q. Is good idear, but most of the time i am too busy with writing new features.. So i don't have much time to write manual or FAQ... i will put one of my team mates on it.. Cobrain for example..

being the newbie, here are some things i was/am confused about...

1. the scoring system, how to earn points, how many points=each level, benefits of each level...on that note, how about average score for each user based on average rating of pictures contributed AND number of pictures contributed? quality and quantity...if that sounds good you might want to weigh quantity more heavily or people will only post what they believe to be 9-10 rating pictures
2. what pictures are accepted and what are not
3. what pay "thingie" (dagon)
4. anything that newbies generally ask crew members...saves y'all time and puts us on track faster...

i'll think of more later

AS i wrote earlier. And as i NOT see myself as a newbie anymore (check status ahhh)
The tricky parts in the begining is commonly.

1. Just as number 1 by deuce.
2. As deuce
3. as deuce once again. and explain what you get for donating.
4. Forum FAQ. Maybe even a separate FAQ for the Forum. Because many newbies have seen forums before and many has not. With stuff like where to see new posts. How to post. Where to post what. English only.

Most of the answers of this stuff is out on the whole page. Like the babe upload thing, it says before you upload what pics are acceptable and what are not. Under Forum you see latest posts. And reading in the Forum you know what status is all about and what you get for it. The only problemo is that its all over the page. Maybe just copy and paste all that info and make it a tiny manual. And when a newbie asks a question about something that is in the manual just advice him to read it. And if there is a newbie that STILL has questions about after reading the manual. Then he can post and ask that, or what ya think Crewbies?

Personally I would suggest a link to a FAQ at the frontpage, somewhere in the top. not with the scrolldown menu's but a button somewhere (we need to explain the menu's aswell ). Clicking that button would send you to the forum, a special part with threads about voting, uploading, use of the forum, use of the menu, registering/payed membership and the like.
it would be like this:
- voting
- uploading
- use of the forum
- use of the menu
- registering/payed membership
- etc
the list would/could go on, preferably ranked in order of importance (use of the menu is more important to know then how to upload for instance...). we could make thread sticky so they would stay where they are. members could post a new thread there to ask questions. if important it could be added to the FAQ, if not, after answering, it could be locked down. this would make "use of the forum" the most important thread as without it, new visitors would not be able to post at all

not in that order but something like that kinda like website for dummies ya know lol b/c i know i am new to the site but i am familure with sites in some ways but not to this one the easyiest ways to figure things out is to do em ya know i have asked some ? but jus important ones lol always on here it is a decent site so far and enjoyn it b/c every one has a chanse to contribute to the site instead of it being only a sertain group of it as a member and a collecter there should be more defined catagories also like asains , latin , ebony and all that have a wide range so there are more intreast in it also remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder what one person thinks is beauty another might not and rude comits and obsence comets are not nessasary but that is life but keep up all the work jus message me if you would like ne help from myself and if i can i will TO ALL THE WBW CREW GODD JOB SOFAR

now i must get back to uping more pics lol it is like i have the whole site on my harddrive so far lol will plane to double the sites production as i up all my content lol so have fun in the neverending qwest of my pics

Maybe a good thing to add is, how to use smilies! Their are a lot of smilies that aren't indexed in the nice index box if you post...

And personally i dont mind having just the ones we have, but for some maybe its a fun feature to have a lot of smileys to forefill their posts with =)
