Drop the 50 votes rule?

From the Freqently Requested Information:
"Top of the Babes
For a pic to appear on the monthly Top of the Babes list it needs to have at least 25 votes. For a pic to be eligible for the all time high it needs to have at least 50 votes."

I agree with the first rule, but can't we drop the second rule?
I have seen a lot of great pics, especially from the early years of WBW and also many times reposted in later years, that have very high average sores, but have votes between 26 and 49.
So they didn't end up on the all times list.
My guess is that in the early years people didn't use the voting mechanism as much as they do now.
When you drop the 50 votes rule it will turn the all times list upside down, but that will normalize through the voting mechanism.

How can a "all time" stat be based on so few votes. That's like inducting a rookie baseball player into the Hall of Fame because he held a batting average of 500 for the first 10 games of his professional career.

"All time" stats have to endure the test of time... or they are meaningless. IMO, 500 votes should be the minimum.

A lot of these pictures have an average rating of 9+, thus higher than the pictures in the all times list (of course with a lot less votes).

Like I mentioned, my guess is that people used to vote less than members do nowadays.

When you drop the 50 max rule these pictures will show up on top of the all times list, members will notice them (mind you, a lot of (new) members have not taken the trouble to browse through all the earlier pics), and everything will normalize as soon as voting starts.

If these pics do not deserve the high rating they have now, they will disappear automatically through the voting mechanism.

Just an idea.

If people vote more now than they used to you have nothing to worry about. The pics will reach the top eventually, just have patience.

Maybe a hall of fame where the pic has to have a 200 votes or more and a 'best in gallery' section where 25 votes and up counts would suffice?

Besides the pictures are not mine and are posted in the years 2003-2005.
If you are confident that every member will browse and vote all the 919630 pictures on the gallery, I am with you.
But another likely guess is that the majority of the members did never see these pictures.

The suggestion of *PiRo* is also a good option.

I say drop it to 25 as well. If the photos are less than desirable, they will be replaced soon. This site didn't always have thousands of creeps as members. There used to be just a few of us.

i agree, drop it. ive come across some amazing pix, some with thousands of views, but about 30 votes. it seems the majority cant be asked to vote anymore?! it is also kind of annoying me that the all times gallery hardly ever changes...
