I have had many rejections because the image has been altered/photoshopped. Before posting I have tried to identify if the image has been manipulated in this way but without success. I have tried reverse searches on Google but never even had a hit about whether the image has been posted anywhere else and cropped etc. Does anyone know of a method where I can identify whether an image has either been altered; cropped; photoshopped etc before I upload it? Thanks in anticipation.

The main ways I can tell is if I do a reverse search on google/yandex and the results show the image is a cropped part of a larger image, or if the cropping isn’t done properly and leaves a coloured border around the image. Or sometimes, the watermark has been covered using a coloured box.

Like I said I've tried Google but never ever had a hit. I've even tried reverse searching my own pictures and nothing ever comes up. I must be doing something wrong I suppose. Watermarks are sometimes so small or faint that even with my keen eye I've missed them. It's so annoying when I've done everything I can and then it's rejected. Still; onwards and upwards.

Yeah watermarks are a pain, they’re usually really small so easily missed. From a moderator’s perspective I don’t get annoyed if someone uploads an image with a tiny watermark as it’s an easy mistake to make. I’m sure I’ve approved a few myself simply by not seeing them. It’s more frustrating when a really obvious website address is written across the bottom of an image as it’s just lazy uploading.
If you’re reverse searching for all of your images then I’d suggest using a different site, such as Yandex, as it does often bring up better results than google. But also I would say don’t worry about it too much - I know it’s frustrating when images are rejected but I assure you the mods aren’t here to make life as difficult as possible to upload. There’ll always be a reason for a rejection. I’m in the same boat as you - I can’t moderate my own images so if another moderator rejects mine for being altered I just have to accept it. Or I can message the mod in question and ask them politely to review it again for me.
