god I hate the damn ads adult friend finder always on every site!!!
BUT Im happy to see that wbw finally has some. Why? Because its the absolute best free site in the land and the ads are not even a bother and the opportunity is there.
So odd as it is to say im glad to see that wbw (the owners) have these ads. Ive been leeching (was paid for awhile) here and im happy to see the site utitilize its amazing traffic.

Sorry gentlemen, but I am totally against the advertisement thing. One of the things I liked about this site was to not have to worry about advertisements, spyware, etc...
I would rather have more limited access to forums and pictures than having to worry about ads. I don't think Diz would do anything malicious, but I think a lot of people will be concerned or not come here anymore, for fear they'll have to deal with ads, pop-ups, tracking cookies, and spyware. Again, this may never happen, but its a perception that will many users will probably develop.
I understand there is a lot of content given for free here, but I would rather have access to less than to have ads. Again it is one of the things I have always liked about the forums and galleries here.
I would think limiting content would be a way to produce more sponsor memberships without the use of advertisement banners.
Speaking of which, that adultfriendfinder banner on the main page just gives the feeling of another ghetto porn site. But the forums and members of this site make it so much more than that, it "cheapens" the way I think of this site.
Does the income from advertisers worth alienating many members? Surely a focus to increase sponsor memberships could make up that income.
I'm sure several of you will disagree, and that is fine. I'm not trying to insult or enrage anyone, just stating how I feel about this.
I HIGHLY SUGGEST A POLL ON THE FRONT PAGE ABOUT THIS TO SEE HOW PEOPLE FEEL. I would include options like, I'm okay with it, it doesn't bother me, I dislike it but I'll live, and I hate it I'm out of here...

@ mal - glad you dont hate them....diz thought alot on this and has hated doing so for quite some time....if people think about it, diz could have put adds on ALONG time ago...but has hesitated. Now, he has taken alot of thought of the kind of adds and the way they will be implemented..
@ DarthM&M - there will be NO pop-ups..diz has made that very clear to us, he hates them as much as the next person. A poll would be a good idea, but i dont think members that do nothing but go through the galleries all day long have much of a say in this. Alienating members? time will tell i guess....this is a first for WBW, so we dont know how it could go. But Diz is trying real hard to make it as un-annoying as possible.
You gotta do what you gotta do. Keep it free, yet this thing costs $$$... So, keep the little ads. They are not that bad.
Just no fucking 'Head On', 'Is your PC protected from spyware?' or 'natural male enhancement' ads, please.
Other that, we are cool.
@ mal - its nice to see that members (well, some) do understand the need for a few ads, we dont plan on going overboard by any means. in fact i havent heard of any more advertising than what we simply have now, as far as i know.
it has always been listed as one of the reasons and some incentive to support the site with a paying sponsorship by NOT having advertisements, its said that in the "perks" of paying members sections since i first joined almost 4 years ago... we just havent had any until now. pretty much every forum and every site on the internet has it, and theres a reason for it. it would be naive of people to think we never would at least have a couple.
@ darth - no popups or malicious ads EVER. we can guarantee that right now, i promise you.
a poll on the front page? well i just put the current poll up on the front page only a few days ago, but on sunday or this coming monday i wouldnt mind putting that poll up for you.

whats the big deal its little links and pics you can ignore or take advantage of. Completly benign. No problem at all and to think its benefiting someone we "know" is good. I mean come on theres some 20000 photos a week (guessing) put uploaded here and it doesnt cost a dime plus you get threads with the latest talent, software help, hardware help and good stories. there is no site with as much free entertainment.
