By providing them with boys we would not only increase our membership, but we'd probably also accidentally or perhaps knowingly but consequentially attract more females.
I will be more than happy to post pictures of my sexy schlong and pictures of my testicles (you can see them hang...one of them got a birthmark) also I can make a butt thread for you...just my butt only...though it does need a shave.
Let me know if that's what you "want". Just boy fun I guess.

Just PM him the pics instead, and everyone can be happy.

I see what you mean, how can chicks resist this?
Seriously though, if you start to mix dudes with chicks and then add guy dudes and she-dudes and bi-dudes and whatever other types of dudes there's inevitably going to be a LOT of bullshit goings on. It would be like facebook/myspace with nudity.
My advice, whether you want it or not, is to keep it simple and enjoy the porn. If you want to talk to a girl call your mom, you don't call her enough anyway.

Guilty. I was ignoring it.

I understand. Thank you (and those like you) for giving bold but genuine comments on the matter.
I think it's true that those of us who are not <insert phobia here> often ignore or fail to consider the stances of those who have those feelings and at times we exacerbate the situations rather than making progress towards them. I think I did so in this case. That wasn't my intent, however, and I regret it if I made some of you feel "put on the spot."

People (and businesses) don't have to be <insert phobia here> to resist certain types of material.
The premise that having "girls" and "boys" on this site would increase membership in general is wrong minded in the same way that having Yugos and Mercedes in the same showroom would not create a larger customer base for a car dealership, rather it would result in both demographics taking their business elsewhere.

No, they (people or businesses) don't have to be <insert phobia here>.
More often than not however, that can be traced as a factor. Perhaps not the only factor and not always as a major factor, but a factor none the less.
You're right that they don't *absolutely always* have to be that way. In fact, they never have to be that way. It's not a requirement.
We do usually find them intertwined though.

I don't think this is the place to do it because it would alienate and confuse those poor men who have to occasionally glimpse other men naked (heaven forbid).
Basically the core membership would freak out so much they'd just leave, rant, and pout even though Tarquin you are right that the title of the site is misleading. Whatboyswant also includes other men.
Maybe someday, but homophobia with men, especially men who frequent sites that objectify women, is very alive and rampant and the backlash would be tremendous.

Dreaz, thank you for your input and support. Your comments got my mind moving a bit too and... Well, since I already made a shit-thread, let's go for the gold.
Sometimes those of us that grew up (or are growing up) in the information age tend to think in terms of here and now. While that's not inherently bad in and of itself, it does lead those who are inundated with a few time-frame issues. One that people often site is the notion of "a society based on instant gratification."
That idea is used to express how modernized people tend to think "we want it here, we want it now" about things that really do take considerable time to get done.
The same can be said of our social ideals. We now live in a society where women vote, blacks are President, atheism is accepted, Darwinism is considered common sense, and so on. In reality, these are very new ideas despite the fact that we as a society look at them and say, "It's been 50 years, 100 years, or 200 years since we made that discovery/advancement/etc."
Take for example racism in general. In 1954 was when Brown V Board of Education took place. Desegregation as a law didn't come about until 1964 however. Once the laws were in place, it took time for it to be implemented across the nation. Even once implemented, some regions were resistant to change. As recently as 2007 for instance, a high school in the US held its first integrated prom and it wasn't exactly a roaring success.
Still, we look at the dates and depending on where we were raised or who it was that raised us, some of us find ourselves in absolute shock when we find out this type of thing still exists in the first place.
We fail to realize that a mere 50 years ago the schools in America were still segregated. We fail to realize that even once the law was passed, it took time to implement. Even once implemented, not everyone got on board.
We fail to realize that a very large portion of our population grew up with segregation as the norm, and we're not talking about people who are soon going to be dead either. They're often very young. I have a friend who is 48 years old. His first year of high school was the first year that Oklahoma had integrated schools of any kind. He's only 48!
There are teachers that teach in our modern school system who were part of the segregated school system. There are people in positions of authority that supported segregation. There are people - young people - who were raised in that belief system.
We think this is ancient history, but it's not.
In terms of humanity and how long it takes societies to evolve, 50 years is nothin', man. It's not even a heartbeat.
Yet in the last 50 years we've gone from blacks not even being eligible to vote, to having a black President (whether deserved or not).
This is what most of us call "progress."
But it wasn't easy. People were killed. There were riots. There were protests (and still are). There had to be several laws made. The police and the military had to go to schools to enforce the new laws by threat of physical violence.
We made it mandatory for our schools to be integrated. We made it mandatory for our military to be integrated. We made it mandatory for equality in employment among the races.
And we still have people that are very much racist. Racism is still a problem even today.
So... I mean it took us a few HUNDRED years to finally get blacks onto a somewhat even playing field. That's a lot of change in a VERY small period of time. There are still some people that are left trying - struggling - to adapt to the society they must live in today versus the one that existed when they were young.
The issue of homosexuality in our society is, by-and-large, a far younger issue. It has not been mandated as acceptable in the military. We are not mandated to integrate that lifestyle into our schools. We are not mandated to allow equal opportunity for employment, housing, marriage and many other things by law in regards to sexual orientation.
We have not had the time as a society to deal with this issue that we have had for dealing with issues of race (and some would argue we went too fast there, and still have a long way to go even now).
There's going to be a little bit of lag there. It doesn't happen overnight. It's going to take a long while for many to catch up to where society currently is. Those of us that weren't raised with those belief systems in place are already at that level of acceptance... But for many of us, this is a brand new concept, and one that the reality they existed in just a few short years ago flatly rejected. Their entire reality is changing, and it's happening very quickly. Regardless of how much we want to make it so, it cannot change for everyone overnight.
Some resistance is to be expected. In fact, I'd be more worried if there wasn't any, because that's just not normal.
Those are my thoughts on the matter. I'm just rambling though.

Good points.
I would argue all of those changes only came across through the generation after such changes were mandated. The children that grew up in the culture where races were equalized, the children that grew up were women could vote. These things are heavily generational.
That said, I fully expect the "next generation" of porn websites to integrate both naked men and women for their audiences instead of being so divisively split as they are now. There's a bit of a lag since society is still mostly patriarchal and anything male nudity related is heavily taboo'ed, but I think it's a matter of a time before men catch up, realize and admit what women (I argue) have already more commonly accepted: both sexes are equally sexy.
And as for the website, in the economic sense it's best for it to stay where the mass culture is at the moment. Products are not meant to change the culture, but exploit its current weaknesses. Products that try to change cultural values tend to find a small niche and stay stagnant.
In the ideological sense, however, it's more important that whatboyswant add both men and women to the site for viewing pleasure. But of course we know in capitalism ideals off the beaten path don't sell. Change must come from the consumer, not the company. And the company must merely just respond when change does come, and it will come there's no doubt about it. Companies die when they don't "change with the times" and companies are born that fill niches to fill the new weaknesses in society.
I think I took a page from you Tarquin and I'm rambling so I'll end it here.

After reading this thread and giving it much thought. I think I have come up with a solution for all of us.
In an effort to merge the combined interests, WBW shall scrap the current media in focus of exclusivity on Dick-girls.

Now the men can have the tits, and the women the penis. This is sheer brilliance, WBW will make a fortune in mere months.

Sweet. I already voted for my favorite some time ago. Unwittingly, but nonetheless...

the guy has a point I have only been in the girls section I have not looked into the cars so having an area for the women to look at guys may be an idea.
Prior to doing a test run put in a poll asking the members.
Or do a mass mailing to the members if they would mind a section like that if they did not have to look at the stuff and maybe even some of the male members may post themselves for the ladies like some ladies do for us guys you wont know till you ask or try.
that's my 2 cents worth Dave.

Sorry Tarquin but worst idea in the history of ideas.
It's not just about the galleries and just avoiding guy pics. It's the fact that forums would be full of gay dudes saying gay things. It already happens occasionally and it never goes well. I personally would leave the site and never return (not just as a mod, as a member) if we did something like this. I don't feel like reading comments about the guy's dick when watching sex vids and so on.
I'm not homophobic, I don't give a shit what people do on their own time but I don't want to come to my favorite site and read comments about dude's fantasizing about other dudes. I can't think of a bigger turn off or many things more disgusting.

As an aside, this thread has brought up interesting questions about what it means to be homophobic. "Act the way you want in your own house but don't let me see it" seems to be a nice double standard set forth by the heterosexual culture.
J-Swiss 16 years ago
I can't be homophobic. A phobia is a fear. You can't find a gay person I'm afraid of. It's a bullshit term.
I don't like what they do. It's nasty. I don't believe they're born that way and even if they are just cause you're born a certain way doesn't mean it's ok and you aren't fucked up. That's just my personal opinion. I don't go out gay bashing or yelling at them in the streets but do I find it completely disgusting? yes. Does that mean I fear them and I am homophobic? No.
