Canadian beavers have mostly grown in their winter coat by this time of year, as a cold beaver doesn’t like to get wet as much as a nice warm one. In late spring they’ll shed their furry insulation to keep cool in the heat of summer helping lessen the distinctive sour, fishy odor that beavers get when they’re not in their optimal conditions.
