Not really pretentious as much as an observation.

About 3 to 4 years ago some politician in San Fran wanted to get Federal Tax Dollars for people who now wanted to have their tats removed for whatever reason. It's expensive and more painful than getting them. Short and sweet: Take responsibility for your own actions.

To somebody who has no desire to do this to their body and wonders why people do it to themselves yes I do believe it's a bit stupid. It's just an opinion and observation. And to be fair, there have been times when I have done stupid things that cause people to shake their heads and confirm my stupidity. Eventually, I'll stop doing stupid things too. I finally quit smoking after 24 years.
