My Girl

ok, as some of you know, my avatar is a pic of my GF. (It's not me, quit asking)

after a long, deep conversation tonight, she wrote this for me:

Promises

Soft moonlight lights
Quiet moments in the early
morning hours.
Gentle kisses when I wake each
day. These are the things you
promised me..

To love you beyond all else.
Keeping you safe within my arms
each night. Whispering soft I love
you's for no reason.
These are the things I promised you.

Until my last breath I will love
you..and you me. This is the promise
together we make.

Now, don't get me wrong. She is the the one I want to spend the rest of my life with. One day, when we work out all the logistics, and the legal things, we will be together.


But words escape me on how to reply. I feel the same way, but good grief, I can't top that.

Wanna change life for a day ?

I say find some poem somewhere, tell her you read it and it made you think of her and how you feel about her....it might not be original but it'll be a helluva lot better than a mere thank you....but should you decide to go with something original, good luck to ya man, that is gonna be tough to match.

no thats a gorgeous poem man....i would just speak my mind...she obviously knows how you feel and loves you, and knows you love her too.
she doesnt want you to top it, she wants you to know how she feels....tell her how you feel.

i agree with DK, you don't have to "top it", it's not a game, just let her know how you feel, even if you can't put it as eloquintly as she did. if you overthink it, then it's not a true emotion, it's just a manufactured responce
