got it working....i re-downloaded the files and dl'd the codecs and VLC...opened on VLC

my advice to siliconguy is to re-download the files and get the K-lite codecs...worked for me.

K-lite codecs? Im not really codec savey lol. Where do u d/l them from and what do u do after d/l them. Do i really have to redownload the files cause there still both in my comp but i just cant open them lol

Not bad, but also nothing hugely exciting. The wait for the download, and then downloading and installing yet more codecs to play it were not worth it for the video, but hey, at least they're in place for any future video files that otherwise wouldn't play
