yep u are quite close - u can use it for food (like .. the chili is 'scharf' - hot) or even a knife could be 'scharf' - sharp but as I mentioned its also used if u see a hot woman and think: my god is she 'scharf'!!

if u ever have any troubles in translating something depending the German language I'll be there for backup
