Winrar Trick - Play video without downloading all .rar parts


We normally download lot of videos from the internet and usually big videos are stored as several small zipped parts ( either with .zip or .rar extension). If the video stored in serveral .rar parts , you need to download all the .rar parts and unzip them using winrar software & only after that you can see the video. But if the video is not what you are looking for, all your time is wasted. Just follow the following steps to see the sample of video without downloading all .rar parts. If you like the video you can download remaining parts , otherwise stop downloading.

Steps to follow:
1. download first part or first few parts
2. Go to Winrar options page & select the option "Keep Broken files".
3. Now click on the downloaded .rar file and extract it normally.
4. Cancel the winrar operation when it ask for remaining parts to unzip
5. Download & install any one of the following media players
a. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ - VLC player ( or)
b. http://www.crystalplayer.com/ - Crystal Player (you can download free version)
6. Now you can watch the broken video using above media players. (Normal media players can’t play these broken files).

You can use DivFix to repair broken .AVI files which will then work on any media player. "Video Fixer" is more of an all-in-one tool which will repair broken .AVI files, .WMV files, .MPG files and so on, however it is not Freeware like DivFix.

Yes, genius. You can download only part 1 of 40 and see the entire video.

but it is handy for checking if the vid is what is promised

or maybe if you just want one part, like the foreplay and the ending

Thanks for trying to help, but here's an ever NEAT-Oer "trick":

In a multipart .rar set, drag the 1st file (usually *.rar, *.001, et al) into VLC and it will play. No unzipping, no cats no jesus.

Repeat: VLC plays archived files.

talk about being lazy and didnt want to take ur hand of ur dick lol ive came up wit some cool solutions to things by dragging n dropping all ahppened while dick in one hand and mouse in the other

Fuck Mac.. I bet there's no possible way I can do this trick with my gf's iBook G4.
