I have Kazaa lite... make that "had". Downloaded a file, transferred it to another computer, opened the file, happened to be somewhere where I had to use dialup (no broadband available), and whammo... spyware worm going out every 5 minutes. Fortunately my anti-virus software picked it up and cleaned it, no prob. But plenty o' viruses and spyware in Kazaa lite.

My preference is WinMX.

Kazaa lite is full of viruses. Use Ares, as someone else mentioned earlier. Also, if you haven't already, switch to Mozilla Firefox too.

Truely, I don't understand why everyone says Kazaa lite is full of viruses . . . I have downloaded well over 100 GB of stuff off of it and I think I have gotten (well my av intercepted them, so I never really got infected) like maybe 3 viruses in the last four years. Maybe I am charmed or really lucky or something.

Just curious, but doesnt Kazaa Lite draw from the same pool as normal Kazaa? So, why would it be paritcularly prone to viruses? And doesn't Ares put spyware on your computer? I am asking out of ignorance, but I thought this is the case. That and I thought Kazaa had the largest file sharing community to draw from. My vote is still for Kazaa lite.

I totally agree triple ive been using kazaa lite for over a year now and ive only ever had 1 virus from downloading an adobe premier serial gen.
From what i understand thats where the vast majority of viruses are hidden in small files such as key gens ect.

Now i have recently been using a program called shareza that connects to emule and gnutella i think and the program is somewhat a rip off of kazaa.
The prorgram is ok but hasnt a patch on kazaa and as you say kazaa has a bigger pool of p2p clients than any other and is by far the easyest p2p program to use it also offers good download speeds and many extras such as avi preview which actually works unlike the piece of crap you get with shareaza.

Only thing is as ive said ive been using shareza recently becuase kazaa lite no longer works due to some registry problem that i will fix shortly.
So for the meantime im stuck with it which is a shame second to kazaa though was supernove which isnt or wasnt should i say a p2p client but just a torrent host.

Thoose where the days viva la supernova anyway you mite want to try bit torrent its slower in speed than kazaa but you can find some less mainstream files on there.

Oh and on the subject of mp3's i heard soul seek was really good but its the most basic and shittest download client ive ever installed steer clear of it.

i have downloaded tons of stuff from Kazaa Lite. You can get virus only if you dl .zip files or .exe. But unfortunatelly there is not a big variety of stuff now

Kazaa Lite K++ doesn't seem to even want to connect for me tonight. I had Ares but immediately deleted it as it began to screw my computer up with spyware, adware, and registry problems. Right now, WBW is one of my only sources for porn. =(

Since we are on the topic of filesharing, I thought I may share a site I have found for music downloads that is perfectly legal, and most songs are only 10 cents, and high quality. Got tired of finding false links in Kazzaa, and for guaranteed high speed, high quality mp3s, it is worth the 10 cents. Allot of us have been using it for a year now with no problems. I also never get spam from them (which was my initial fear)
