i dunno... ive played all these using Quicktime 7 Pro and i've had no problems playing them... some other .avi files yes... i usually just use this program called Mplayer OS X 2 it can play anything and i never have a problem. if you do however want to use quicktime to play avi's, just use a program called divx doctor II and it fix any avi to play on the mac...
