It's to open the file.

You can download these without using any pass, but you won't be able to open the .rar without it.
Also, you don't have to have an account with RS to download files, but without one they have a limit and the dl speed is slower - i have one and i get sick dl speeds, but I assume that most people don't. That's why this post is of movies with with hot girls and small file sizes.

Works fine for me too.

I don't really get what people hate about it...and, i'm not sure that I could even pretend to care.

Before I put these files on RS, I used their free login and was able to download a few big files, (from links in this forum), at a consistant 875kb/sec.

I'm guessing that is not the norm, but I have never gotten close to that speed from any other file host...not that any of you should care!
