if a car was to hit this tree and wrap around it would have to be going very quick, but the tree is to thin to take an impact of the speed needed.

Yeah, I just love it how everybody gives "expert opinions" on this one. It just so happens that these two pics of a red car that are posted in BMW section are from an accident that caused quite a stir here in Latvia about a year ago (maybe more, can't remember precisely). They circulated via email a few times over. The pics have NOTHING to do with BMW, it's a Ford Escort - the driver was a young cretin, who was going over 100 km/h. And, what's freaky - he actually walked away from this one - apparently wasn't wearing a seatbelt and got thrown out of the car. These are not staged and the driver did not die, contrary to "experts". When I find the rest of the series, they will be posted, have to look trough old emails.
