My Grandfather bought one of these new in 1959ish, he chose the Cresta over the Ford Zodiac Mk2 as it cost just over £1000, when the Ford was about £980. The reason being that when he was in the pub that night he could say he had paid over a "£1000 CASH" for it.............A lot of money in 1959, you could buy two Minis for that money. He was a flash sod, my Granddad.
