The rotary engine or wankel was designed for helicopters and planes.... but they have a very very bad handicap, the wankel sucks fuel like hell and his life is really short!!!

wankel designed that engine for a reason and mazda is trying to re invent that reason...
it has some advantages, but so did the "steampowered cars" from the turn of the century...
rotar engines are definitly made for racin', but too few people see that...
