Maserati MC12 comes from years 2004-2005, not 2021. They were built in two batches of 25 cars each and I believe the first ones were available only in white/blue paint. The Dark blue version here is probably from 2005.

Model history: It was produced as a homologation model for the FIA ​​GT Championship in a limited edition of 50 units. MC12 stands for Maserati Corse 12-cylinder.

Originally only 25 vehicles were to be built. This would have fulfilled the regulations of the FIA ​​GT Championship, which require the production of at least 25 road-legal vehicles for a new vehicle in the GT1 category (largest sports car class). These 25 vehicles were completed at the end of 2004 and had all been sold at this point. However, there were still enough potential customers that Maserati launched 25 more vehicles due to high demand.

Originally, the street version was only supposed to be available in mother-of-pearl white with blue sills. This paintwork is intended to be reminiscent of old Maserati racing cars from the 1950s. However, some customers were able to influence Maserati and so four cars are known in other colors: one in silver, one in dark gray, one in dark blue and one in orange.

The Maserati MC12 GT1 racing version clearly won the FIA ​​GT World Championship in its class in the 2005 season thanks to its technical superiority (the production version is derived from the racing model; for most competitors it is the other way around).

In the 2006 season, Maserati was once again at the forefront with the Vitaphone Racing Team around Michael Bartels and Andrea Bertolini. They won both the team and driver championships. In August they won the 24-hour race at Spa-Francorchamps once again and this year they were even able to set the record for the most racing kilometers covered in 83 years.
