1968 Aston Martin DBS had similar overall theme, but somewhat less gracefully executed. Giugiaro was the hot stylist in the late 60's and his earlier designs were widely quoted. This Ghibli design appeared in 1966. This Aston DBS first appeared as a 1968 model.

Giorgetto Giugiaro designed it while he was at Ghia. One of the most beautiful cars ever, and one that still looks great on the road - 40 years after its design

Cars have progressed in those 40 years, of course. Until the SS model was released in 1969, this high-performance supercar of its day was slower (0-60 in 6.8 seconds; 155 mph top end) that a BMW 328i is today. https://youtu.be/9ayyndauWRc

The SS could reach 174 mph, impressive for the late '60s indeed. Only 25 were made. If you want one, they are available for a cool USD $1.225.000. http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/dealer/maserati/ghibli/1873805.html
