I had a 69 with the 302, damn that beast could get up and move! My favorite game was to wait until the chevy nova, charger or whatever got their nose even with my mirror before I got on it. It didn't matter what car it was, none of them ever got even with the nose of that mustang. It didn't help them that just the speed never scared me, it was their nerves that usually made them back down. Man I miss that car

In 1969 I was riding my BSA motorcycle passed Fry's of Lewisham (local Ford dealer) in South London and on the forecourt was the 1st BOSS 302 in the Country. It was Boss Bright Yellow (649 of the 1628). I stopped and spent a hour talking to the salesman and taking photos. I was an apprentice mechanic and could just afford to run my Beeza but the salesman was happy to talk to me and must have realised I was in love with this car. I had to wait another 10 years to get my first American vehicle., a 1964 Ford Econoline with 289cu.in. V8. I have had American vehicles ever since.
