Larry Shinoda was the Chevrolet designer that perfected the body lines of what would become the most collectible of all Corvettes - the mid-year ('63-67) Sting Ray. No, the original design didn't have perfectly round wheel openings, because of the other styling features of the overall bodywork, they were integrated just below the crease that ran the circumference of the car...
I still go with the original lines. I had two of them...my favorite was a '66 roadster. This one is very nice and gets a hot score of "8"... but I still like the unmolested body lines of the original better...
