Doing a bit of amateur photography myself, I am always amazed that people don't realise that a flash in a mirror will always bounce back, often spoiling key parts of a photo. If the camera can be held away from the body, it is still possible to get a good shot. Better still, put it on a table and use the selftimer. Most cameras have one.
