I was just wondering if there are any teachers on this site. I don't mean any offense, but I'm obviously not talking about flight instructors, college level educators, tech school or anything else of the sort. I'm talking specifically about K through 12 teachers. I'm just curious as to what your feelings are about being a member of this site given your status (that you work with young people). Has it ever come up? What would you do if it did? What affects might it have on your position? Any teachers in the house? I know there has to be some on here, but I'm wondering if they'll talk about it. |

Well... Sometimes. But no. Not really. They had cameras they took into airplanes sometimes. In this case it's a bit of an embellishment to emphasize the point I suppose. He actually had witnesses in other planes nearby. Also, O'Hare didn't shoot down 5 planes. He shot down three. Still an incredibly impressive feat. He also wasn't the only plane to engage the enemy at the time. It was he and his wing man, but the wing man's guns jammed. Even so, there were other planes coming in behind him that were ours, but they likely would not have gotten to the enemy planes in time. They were close enough to witness the planes being shot down, however. O'Hare never rammed into another airplane with his like depicted either as that would most likely have taken both planes out instantly - and it's also very hard to do. He did shoot down 3 planes and wounded two others, however - with what amounted to about 34 seconds worth of ammo. That kind of accuracy in a plane is absurd. |

The photographer deserves a lot of credit for this set. The girl's pretty, no doubt, but the lighting and shading of the pictures brings out her beauty much more and definitely adds that erotic feel to it. Hot pics. What a difference a good photographer can make. |

Well, for starters no contract you sign can sign away your basic rights - one of which is the right to own a business and set it up where you want. I think they'd have a hard time enforcing that one. Beyond that, the specific question becomes one of libel. You had damn well better be sure everything you write is accurate, and that there is zero possibility for misinterpretation. Be fair in your critique, and honest. Have character when you do it and qualify your statements. Before you send it out, have your lawyer look it over. Make sure your ass is covered. Ordinarily no one can prosecute someone for speaking their mind or making shit up, but since you are a business owner in direct competition with the people you intend to attack, this falls under unfair business practices and can get very hairy very quickly. Check with your lawyer before you send anything out. That's the best advice anyone here can possibly give you. |

Yeah, it's been ongoing. I'm not paying real close attention, but it seems to me that Jamie is the only server that reliably loads my uploads and favorites right now (but I could be bass-ackwards too). It was discussed some time ago when some changes were being made. I presumed it was more of the same types of changes/improvements going on now, or just one of the servers taking a shit. No, you're not the only one it's happening to. I ain't crew, but I think I'm pretty safe in saying it's a known thing. I've heard others talking about it before. |

//Forum/The Lounge/Any sympathy for fat people?
Contrary to the many loud opinions here, I am sympathetic. Story time. I was a small kid in my youth. Always very skinny. I played football, baseball, soccer, basketball and ran track. I was always in sports. I did three years of Tae Kwon Do. I was good! But I'm 5'11 and at the time I weighed 110 pounds, if that. They told me I couldn't play football. I was too small. I'd get creamed. This isn't true. I hit like a mother fucker and had zero fear. I had great instincts. I was fast and could jump incredibly high. But the coach thought I was too small. He was afraid I'd get hurt. He benched me. I never played again. After I graduated I went into the military. I weighed about 113 or so by then. In order to keep my job in the military I had to meet a certain weight requirement. I think it was 135. I worked my ass off. I was taking in several thousand calories per day and worked out every day at least once a day, usually twice, rotating the muscle groups to give them rest. I ate constantly and had a specially designed diet to help me gain weight. I could bench press well over twice my body weight. I could easily carry rucks that weighed 70 pounds for ten mile marches, plus my combat gear. I never once fell out of a march. I could carry anyone in my unit. But they were going to kick me out of my career field because I was too light. I worked my ass off - and I never did make my weight. Each time I went in, I had to count on the sympathy and kindness of the doctor to fudge the results. They always asked the same things: "Do you not watch what you eat? Don't you work out? Do you fall out of marches? Do you have any shortness of breath? Do you have trouble doing push-ups? Do you have injuries on your medical record (are you too fragile)? The answers were always the same. "Yes, I'm on a strict diet. I work out constantly. I've never fallen out. I can swim like a fish. I never have trouble with push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups or runs. I've never had a single day of medical leave for any reason." They'd check my record, scratch their heads, and send me on my way with my completely bull-shitted physical and a weight of 136, despite that I was by this time - MAYBE 125. I think I got to 133 by the time my enlistment was up. The month I got out of the military I kept working out (habit) and was still in great shape. Despite that, however, I immediately dropped back down to 115 pounds within 30 days. I didn't stop eating. I didn't stop exercising. I didn't stop working my ass off. I'm 35 now. I'm still 5'11" tall, and am willing to bet I can beat the shit out of the vast majority of the people that are members of this board. I currently weigh 125 pounds. But bear in mind that less than 15 minutes ago I finished eating 1.5 pounds of steak, two loaded mashed potatoes, three-fourths a gallon of milk, and a cupcake. I eat this (or something like this) at least twice a day, with another small meal in-between, or another large meal in-between. My typical order at the drive-in for McD's is four double cheeseburgers, a big fry and a giant coke, and I can eat well over three such orders in a single day. I still work out (sometimes), and can still bench my own weight (or more). But I weigh 125 pounds - and this is the most I have ever weighed aside from the physiological "experiment" I was on in the military. Not everyone can control their weight, and what I see posted above in this thread is nothing but judgmental ignorance of that reality. People are not fat because they are lazy. If it were that fucking easy to fix, they'd have done it by now. |

I tend to think the site is more careful now than it used to be actually, though they've always been pretty diligent. By and large I think the mods do a good job of it and always have. If anything they've become more cautious over time in my observations. If you see something questionable, report it for a mod. They can review it. That's the best way to resolve it I think. As for the flaming and such that used to take place... That was the case with a lot of things. The culture here was always pretty harsh in certain circumstances in the past. Lately that's not been the case. That's neither good nor bad, just different. But the culture has changed overall and the kinds of "community lynchings" that took place before are pretty much a thing of the past regardless of the situation. I don't think it's related to the stance on under-aged pics, as I think we all want to keep the site clean, safe and classy. It's just a matter of fact. The situation isn't worse nor am I saying it's better. Just saying it's different. In any case, I think the mods do a good job of watching for jailbait and if anything have gotten better about it over time. The best thing to do is report it and move on. |

The problem in this thread seems to be that you guys are trying so hard to post "weird" or "freaky" that you forgot that it should also be... "good." Anyone can get on a computer and record some fucked up sounds and make some weird noises. This does make it odd, but it doesn't make it moving and it certainly doesn't make it music. Songs that are creepy/scary/disturbing as opposed to just "asinine, strange and a bunch of random noises" aren't that hard to find. It's the difference between "gross" and "horror." Freddy Kruger is gross. Hannibal Lecter (in Silence of the Lambs) is frightening. Anyone can be gross. To be truly disturbing takes genuine talent - and doesn't sound like shit. Please, let me show you how it's done: Click here since I can't embed it. The video is obviously a spoof. It's the music that one need to pay attention to here: Click here since it's blocked from embedding. |

"He's better than Hitler." I love this type of argument - that because someone is better than Hitler/Stalin/Saddam that they somehow deserve to be thanked and worshiped. It's a complete BS argument, but it works on an emotional level to those that don't realize that just because someone shittier was there before doesn't make it okay to be a bastard in and of one's self now. Other people's actions do not excuse our own. Saddam Hussein's actions do not excuse George Bush's. |
