Believe it or not, the Ford Falcon was the base platform for the 1964-64 Mustang. That was the first "pony car" - a group that expanded when the Camaro, Challenger, and Javelin followed. Mustang was a brainchild of Lee Iacocca that he rode to fame and fortune in the American auto industry.
