When I first started driving (late 1960s) whereas most guys my age wanted a Lotus Cortina , Cortina GT or Mini Cooper 997 or 1275S, I wanted a Giulia or Giulietta. I ended up building a Ford Anglia 100E with 1600cc Ford crossflow engine with twin Weber DCOEs, disc brakes and Ford Bullet gearbox. Faster and quicker than all of the others. Working for a firm that built Lotus Twin cam and Formula Ford engines helped.
